A Canadian company, Triple Five, plans to build a European Las Vegas down on the Sun Coast. In the past, the Canadian company has focused on the Province of Extremadura, where there are large and inexpensive lands. But has now chosen to look more closely at the area between Estepona, Gibraltar and Jerez de la Frontera. The area has large land areas and good infrastructure. Two important things for this type of project. The project has a budget of €3.4bn and includes the construction of hotels, casinos, amusement parks and shopping centers. There have been thoughts on similar projects for Madrid and Barcelona, but these have not been successful because of problems with building permits and the authorities have not accepted conditions with exemption from VAT. Triple Five is behind many of the largest shopping centers in the United States.
