Spain’s economy recorded a growth of 0.7% in the last quarter of 2018. The result was significantly better than expected and an increase of 0.1% over the previous three quarters. Both the government and the central bank had lowered their growth expectations for the year. Thus, in 2018, the GDP growth in Spain was 2.5%. The figure for the last quarter was significantly better than the EU average, which was only 0.2%.
